When you put the two best pitchers in the SEC against each other, it’s expected that you see a lot of zeroes in the box score.
This was one of those games with Alex Lange and Alex Faedo duking it out and the Florida Gators (15-8, 1-3 SEC) were able to get the lone run on the board to take the first game in a big series against LSU (17-6, 3-1 SEC).
The lone score came in the bottom of the sixth when JJ Schwarz hit a sac fly to left field to allow Deacon Liput to reach home safely.
Lange dropped to 3-2 on the season allowing one run off of six hits, walking one, and striking out seven batters in eight innings of work.
The Tigers will look to even the series on Saturday with first pitch set for 2 pm.
