After a stellar outing from Colten Schmidt, it seemed like the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (30-20-1, 14-10-1 Sun Belt) had the game in control.
That was until the final two innings when Texas State (25-26, 11-15 Sun Belt) got five runs to even the weekend series with an 8-4 victory.
The rally started with Jaylen Hubbard hitting a bases-loaded two-run double off the wall to take a 5-4 lead. Dylan Moore gave the Bobcats a free run with a bases loaded walk later in the inning.
Jonathan Ortega finished things off in the ninth with an RBI double to right centerfield. Later in the inning, Hubbard struck again with an RBI single through the right side to put the game away.
Jevin Huval dropped to 0-2 on the season allowing two runs off three hits in two innings of work.
The Cajuns will look to avoid losing their third straight Sun Belt series on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.
