Saints Dominate Tampa Bay to Win Sixth Straight

After the first two weeks of the season, the writing seemed to be on the walls that the New Orleans Saints (6-2) would be headed for yet another 7-9 season. Now the Saints have won their sixth straight and in control of the competitive NFC South after a dominant 30-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-6).

Wil Lutz got the Saints on the board after a lengthy drive down the field that took six minutes off the clock to get an early edge. The Saints weren’t done though with a blocked punt by Justin Hardee taken to the house to make it 9-0 after Lutz’ extra point attempt was blocked.

The Bucs finally got on the board late in the first half after recovering a fumble by Alvin Kamara with a 50-yard field goal, making it 9-3. The Saints weren’t done though as Kamara caught a short pass from Drew Brees and rolled into the endzone to make it 16-3 as both teams headed into the locker room.

Kamara continued to redeem himself after his fumble in the second quarter with a rushing touchdown from six yards out to extend the Saints lead.

After Chris Banjo recovered a fumble by O.J. Howard, Drew Brees put the dagger in the Bucs fans with a deep ball to Ted Ginn Jr. to make it 30-3.

The Saints will hit the road to Buffalo to take on the Bills with kickoff set for noon.
