Saints Crush Bills With Run Game to Win Seventh Straight

If you ask Drew Brees, the New Orleans Saints (7-2) have been looking for a complete game in the midst of their unprecedented win streak. This team may have had just that on Sunday after a 47-10 win over the Buffalo Bills (5-4).

After the Bills had to settle for a short field goal on the opening drive, the Saints got aggressive offensively going for it on fourth and one. They wound up converting with Mark Ingram rushing it for 25 yards. That wound up leading to a one-yard run for Ingram to give the Saints a 7-3 lead.

Josh Hill wound up fumbling the ball in the redzone, but the stingy Saints defense wound up forcing a three-and-out. The Saints marched down the field once again and capped it off with another touchdown run for Ingram.

The Saints defense did wind up being stymied late in the first half after being stopped at the Buffalo five-yard line, forcing the Saints to kick a chip-shot field goal to make it 17-3.

The Saints continued to dominate to start the second half with a methodical nine-play drive capped off by a five-yard run by Alvin Kamara into the endzone. Three plays later, defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins came close to a pick six. Ingram got his third touchdown of the day on the very next play to make it 30-3.

The final nail in the coffin was put in late in the third quarter when Drew Brees scrambled his way into the endzone from seven yards out thanks to a big block from Terron Armstead.

The Saints will return to the Superdome when they play host to the Washington Redskins (4-4) with kickoff set for 12 pm.
