The New Orleans Pelicans (18-16) are starting to heat up after getting their third straight win on Wednesday night over the Brooklyn Nets (12-22) thanks in large point to Rajon Rondo recording 25 assists.

It was all Pelicans from the outset thanks to a 16-2 run in the first quarter and were able to take a 31-23 lead at the end of the first quarter. Things kept going their way for much of the third quarter as New Orleans got out to a 23 point lead as both teams headed into the locker room.

The Pelicans looked to be pulling away in the third quarter, going up by as much as 33 points with 3:15 left. However, the Nets fought back, going on an 18-0 run late to make it 91-75 headed into the fourth quarter.

While it began to look like the Pelicans were going to blow another big lead, they were able to bounce back late with Jrue Holiday officially putting the game out of reach with a short jumper to make it 114-86 with 5:38 left on the clock.

The Pelicans will return to action on Friday when they host the Dallas Mavericks (11-25) with tipoff set for 7 pm.
