LSU Hoops Comes Up Short Against Alabama

You have to give the Alabama Crimson Tide (11-6, 3-2 SEC) a lot of credit. Coming into a sold out Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Saturday night was a challenge and they were up to it and came away with a 74-66 victory over the LSU Tigers (11-5, 2-2 SEC).

After an early back and forth, it seemed like the Tigers were starting to pull away late in the first half after a fastbreak dunk by Daryl Edwards. However, momentum turned to Alabama and took a 32-30 lead into halftime.

The Crimson Tide began to take control early in the second half and it was clear a layup from Key with 11:29 left in the ballgame. However, the Tigers were able to respond and get the deficit down to five thanks in large part to Tremont Waters. However, it was too little too late as the Tide made it an eight point ballgame with four free throws in the final seven seconds.

LSU will play host to the Georgia Bulldogs on Tuesday with tipoff set for 6 pm.
