Pelicans Blow Out Memphis Grizzlies to Snap Four-Game Skid

Posted by clintdomingue on April 4, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

A losing streak has to end sooner or later, right? The New Orleans Pelicans (43-34) needed to get a win if they wanted to keep themselves in the postseason with five games left in the regular season and they were able to do it real big on Wednesday with a 123-95 win over the lowly Memphis Grizzlies(21-56).

Key to Victory: Strong Three-Point Shooting

The Pelicans have never been the best in the world when it comes to shooting from beyond the arc, but they looked solid shooting 44.4 percent from three. Having that kind of performance helped boost the overall field goal percentage up to 52 percent and being up against a bottom dwelling team in the Western Conference helps their cause.

Big Number: 32

The Pelicans were simply dominant from start to finish, but seeing that they came away with a 32-point win is outstanding. Considering how often they’ve let double digit leads get away from them.

Player of the Game: E’Twaun Moore

Moore was fantastic on Wednesday night, putting up 30 points on the evening. What makes that even more impressive was that he shot 7-of-10 from three meaning that 21 of his 30 points was from three.

Where They Stand

With the win, they now are tied for seventh place in the Western Conference with four games left in the regular season.
