103.7 The Game is proud to present the ARDCO Equipment Student-Athletes for the month of March. The two student-athletes selected were nominated not only for their accomplishments in the high school sports realm but for what their contributions are to their schools, fellow students and communities.
Alexis Boutte, St. Martinville
When Alexis Boutte is not lining up behind the plate for the St. Martinville Senior High Tigers, the freshman is heavily involved in the REACH Teen Club. The club’s name stands for Respect, Encourage, Accept, Change and Help and was created last fall by students to help combat bullying.
Boutte mentioned that helping people, in a time where cyberbullying is prominent not only in Acadiana but nationwide, is something that a lot of students are thankful for.
“I am humbled and really happy to receive this honor,” Boutte said. “I just love to help others whether it comes to bullying or anything else.”
Darian Richard, Rayne
Darian Richard wrapped up his senior year as a sports star (football, baseball, and track), while also being a star in the classroom. Richard helped the Wolves earn a berth in the football playoffs, aided the baseball team to the second round of the postseason and ran on the team’s 4×100 track team.
Richard, just recently received an offer Southeastern Louisiana to play football, also maintained being an honor roll student despite playing sports year round.
“I’m really pumped up about this,” Richard said. “I am looking forward to playing football at Southeastern but I also will be studying criminal justice over there. My aspirations are to be either a lawyer or something in law enforcement.”
