Landon Marceaux pitched his best game of the season on Friday, and three days later LSU’s freshman right handed earned Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week honors.
Marceaux shared the honor with Texas A&M pitcher Joseph Menefee.
Former Destrehan High star Marceaux pitched a career-high seven innings in last Friday’s 5-1 win over Auburn, limiting the opposition to one run on two hits with no walks and a career-best seven strikeouts.
Marceaux also retired 11 straight Auburn hitters from the first inning through the fourth inning, and retired nine in a row from the fifth through the seventh innings to complete his outing.
Marceaux is 4-2 overall on the season with an 5.70 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 42.2 innings of work.
