Luke Combs received some exciting news yesterday.

He was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. A video was posted last night on Twitter. His first Grand Ole Opry performance was just three years ago. Since that day, his career has taken off. Luke Combs was quite overcome with emotion when he accepted. He has to be excited especially since the offer was presented by Country music legends John Conlee, Craig Morgan, and Chris Janson.

Some Twitter users were not so happy about the announcement commenting about how he is still a “newbie.” Although Luke Combs is young and still somewhat new to the industry, his talent is remarkable. This honor is well deserved.

Luke Combs is from North Carolina. He was just a little kid when he started to sing. And his love of singing continued into high school. Although he was on the football team, he was also in a singing group. Luke Combs went college and stayed for 4 years before quitting to purse a career in country. He eventually moved to Nashville. His first EP was released in 2014 and his first hit song, Hurricane was released in 2015. That song would become a number one hit. Luke Combs released 4 more hits songs. He the first artist to have his first 5 releases become 5 number one hit songs consecutively.
