UL Football Team Picks Up Another 3-Star Committment

Posted by Raymond Partsch III on August 11, 2019 in Blogs, Featured, Latest News, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, RP3's Blogs

This time of the year it might be considered the dead period for football recruiting but things are very much alive for the University of Louisiana.

Head coach Billy Napier and the Ragin’ Cajuns football team began the weekend securing a verbal commitment from three-star athlete Trey Amos of Catholic High of New Iberia, and wrapped up the weekend on Sunday by getting a pledge from three-star athlete Caleb Anderson of East Feliciana.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Anderson had standing offers from a pair of Power 5 schools in Virginia (ACC) and Utah (Pac-12), as well as offers from Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, Army, Navy, Tulane, UL Monroe, South Alabama and Arkansas State among others.

Anderson made the announcement on Twitter with a post that said:

“First off, I would like to thank God for each and every opportunity he has blessed me with. Thank you to every coach and program that has recruited me, for that I am truly honored. Thank you to my family, friends and mentors for the continuous guidance, love and support. And most importantly, thank you to my mom, dad and brother for guiding me through this entire process. With that being said, I am excited to announce that I am committed to the University of Louisiana. #cULture #GEAUXCAJUNS.”

According to 247 Sports, UL now has the No. 70 nationally ranked recruiting class for 2020 and the No. 1 ranked class in the Sun Belt Conference. The Cajuns have 16 commitments for the 2020 class and with 13 of those are rated as three-star prospects by 247Sports.

In addition, 8 of the 16 commitments are from the state of Louisiana.
