Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Bryan Maggard is leaving to take a position with the University of Missouri, multiple sources including CollegeAD reported on Tuesday.
The move comes following a 10-year run as the Athletic Director for the Cajuns.
During his tenure, Maggard notably brought in Billy Napier to take over the football program. Napier led the Cajuns to a Sun Belt Championship in his final season with Louisiana.
Maggard also made hires in nearly every major sport on campus, bringing in Matt Deggs for baseball, Alyson Habetz for softball, Quannas White for men’s basketball and now Michael Desormeaux in football after Napier’s departure.
Another key accomplishment in Maggard’s tenure was the planning and construction of the stadium renovations at the now Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium. The project completed its first and biggest phase prior to the 2025 football season and has been a massive upgrade for the program.
Maggard is expected to be the Chief Operating Officer and Deputy AD at Missouri according to Yahoo’s Ross Dellenger.
A Missouri graduate, Maggard also spent 22 years in the athletic department with the Tigers, working most recently as the Executive Associate Athletic Director.
