Former LSU star Travin Dural was released by the New Orleans Saints on Friday.

The New Orleans Saints cut a pair of former LSU stars on Friday.

Canal Street Chronicles reported that former Tiger football star Travin Dural and former Tiger track and field star Cyril Grayson Jr. had been released by the franchise. The cuts occurred the day before final cuts to the 53-man roster for the regular season.

Dural, who was a former star locally at Breaux Bridge High School, saw limited action in four preseason games. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound Dural caught 3 passes for 34 yards.

Dural was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Saints in 2017 and served as a member of the practice squad during that season. Dural then spent the entire 2018 season on the Injured/Reserved for the team after breaking a bone in his arm during training camp.

Dural was a four-year letterman and three-year starter at LSU from 2013-16 as he played in 46 games (30 starts) while recording 100 receptions for 1,716 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Prior to his time at LSU, Dural was a multi-sport star at Breaux Bridge where he earned first-team all-state honors in 2011, and was the 200-meter state champion.

Grayson Jr. meanwhile was trying to make the team as return specialist-wide receiver. In four preseason games, the 5-foot-9, 183-pound Grayson Jr. recorded 8 catches for 147 yards.

Grayson Jr. was a four-time NCAA Champion and seven-time All-American between the indoor and outdoor seasons from 2013-16 at LSU. He was also a football and track star at Archbishop Rummel.

Both players could easily be picked up by other NFL franchises or even signed to the Saints practice squad.
