NEW ORLEANS — Michael Thomas continues to rack up awards.
The New Orleans Saints fourth-year wide receiver was named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Month for November on Thursday. Thomas hauled in 37 receptions for 415 yards and two touchdowns in November as the Saints (10-2) went 3-1 overall and clinched the NFC South for the third straight season.
With four regular season games remaining, Thomas already has 110 receptions for 1,290 yards and six touchdowns. The former Ohio State star needs only 34 receptions to break Marvin Harrison’s NFL record of 143 catches in a season.
Jordan Named POW
Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has been named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-best four sacks in last week’s win over the Atlanta Falcons.
In the 26-18 victory, the Saints sacked Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan nine times as the Saints clinched the NFC South title.
Jordan enters Sunday’s game against the 49ers with 13.5 sacks this season and now is second all time in Saints history with 85. He has sacked Ryan 18 times, the most times any player has sacked one quarterback in NFL history.
Leading Pro Bowl Voting
The Saints have five players leading their position group in the latest Pro Bowl voting for the NFC.
Michael Thomas continues to lead the wide receiver group overall, while free safety Marcus Williams, strong safety Vonn Bell, kicker Wil Lutz and punter Thomas Morstead all lead their respective positions.
Fan voting for the 2020 Pro Bowl will continue online and on web-enabled mobile phones at NFL.com/ProBowlVote until Thursday, Dec.12.
Jackson to Sign Autographs
Former Saints star linebacker Rickey Jackson will appear at the Saints Hall of Fame Museum on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m.-11:15 a.m., prior to the game between the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers.
Jackson was part of the famed Dome Patrol of the New Orleans Saints, voted the best linebacker corps in NFL history by NFL Network. Jackson played for the Saints from 1981-1993. He is the all-time leader in sacks for the Saints and ranks third in games played in team history.
