The Houston Astros have been on an offensive tear as of late and that continued on Wednesday night with a 13-0 beatdown of the Baltimore Orioles to complete the series sweep and win their 10th straight in the process.

How It Happened:

The Astros wasted very little time getting on the board with Carlos Correa hitting a two-out, two-run double out to left field. Kyle Tucker made his presence felt in his first game back from injury with an RBI single to left field to get Correa home safely and giving Houston a 3-0 lead after one inning.

Yuli Gurriel kept the runs coming in the top of the second with an RBI single. scoring Jose Altuve. Altuve made it a 6-0 lead for the Astros in the fourth with a two-run blast to left-center field.

Michael Brantley padded the lead a little more in the sixth with a groundball RBI single that scored Martin Maldonado. Yordan Alvarez started off a big seventh inning with a solo shot to right field.

That was followed up quickly by a three-run bomb from Abraham Toro, quickly making it an 11-0 lead for the Astros.

Chas McCormick helped put the finishing touches on an impressive win with his ninth home run of the season in the eighth. Toro got another run across later in the inning with an RBI single, scoring Robel Garcia

Big Number: 60

During this ten-game win streak, the Astros offense has been on a tear, outscoring their opponents 81-21. That gives Houston a run differential of +60 which hasn’t been done in a while by a team on a 10-game win streak.

Player of the Game: Jose Urquidy

While the Astros offense was on point, the bigger story may have been Urquidy’s performance on the mound. The 26-year-old threw seven shutout innings and only allowed three hits and struck out six.

Next Up: Thursday at Detroit; First Pitch at 6:10 pm
