The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns had two star pitchers selected during day two of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Here are the Ragin’ Cajuns selected on the second day of the MLB Draft.
P Spencer Arrighetti, 6th round (178th pick) to the Houston Astros
Arrighetti, who finished his career at UL, after stints at TCU and Navarro Junior College, led the team last season with 83.2 innings pitched, while posting a 7-6 record with a 3.12 ERA and a team-high 91 strikeouts.
P Connor Cooke, 10th round (302nd pick) to the Toronto Blue Jays
The Sulphur native posted a 2.04 ERA in 67.1 innings pitched with 90 strike outs during the 2021 season. In Sun Belt Conference play, Cooke had a 1.64 ERA, while ranking first in opposing batting average (.146).
The third and final day of the MLB Amateur Draft will take place on Tuesday with rounds 11 through 20. The draft will begin at 11 a.m.
