Delta Media Corp. is proud to announce that the perennial football powerhouse Acadiana High will be broadcast live every week on 97.7 MeTV FM and 1330 AM.
The Wreckin’ Rams have become one of the most dominant football programs in Louisiana. Acadiana has hoisted the state championship trophy six times since 2007, and have finished as state runner-up twice (2005, 2007). That championship tradition now has a new home on the airwaves.
“I am really excited to have Delta Media Corp. broadcasting Acadiana High football games for the 2022 season and beyond,” Acadiana High head coach Matt McCullough said. “It will be awesome having former Acadiana High football players and former Acadiana High students broadcasting the games in the future.”
The Wreckin’ Rams broadcast will feature all Acadiana High alumni. Monty Hanks (Class of 1989) will do play-by-play for the broadcasts. He will be joined in the booth by Kohl Guilbeau (Class of 2012) for home games, and Britt Latiolais (Class of 1980) for road games. In addition, Nick Fontenot (Class of 1999) will serve as the Wreckin’ Rams sideline reporter.
“I have called many teams since I got into broadcasting football games,” Hanks said. “I’m extremely excited to be able to broadcast the football games of my alma mater, the Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams. It has been something I wanted to do for a few years now, and now it has come true. Once a Ram, always a Ram.”
