The GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles and Delta Media Corporation brought home six awards in the radio broadcasting portion of the 2022 Louisiana Sports Writers Association annual awards contest held in Natchitoches on Sunday.
RP3 & Company host Raymond Partsch III and former producer Louis Prejean took home first place honors in the Best Interview category for a pair of live interviews with former NFL player Bill Curry and former McNeese coach Frank Wilson.
The judge’s commented on the submission, “Really succinct, smart questions that elicited great response and storytelling from the guest. Excellent follow up question, when Curry mentioned Don Shula, the follow up question was short and to the point…”what was your experience like with Don Shula”. (paraphrasing). but a really nice follow up. Short, meaningful and relevant questions.”
Footenotes host Kevin Foote and former producer Louis Prejean earned second place honors in the Best Interview category for an interview with Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun football legend Jake Delhomme.
Foote and Prejean received second-place honors in the Best Sports Talk Show (Solo) category, while Partsch and Prejean earned third place honors in that same category.
Delta Media had two different broadcast teams receive accolades in the Best Live Radio Broadcast Team category. Ben Love and Blaine Viator earned second-place honors for their live calls of Carencro High School football on Z105.9. Craig Wall and Ward Courville meanwhile received third place honors for their work broadcasting the Vermilion Parish Game of the Week on 106.3 Radio Lafayette.
