LAKE CHARLES — The Southland Conference unveiled its schedules for both men’s and women’s basketball programs on Tuesday.
The McNeese men’s basketball team will open up SLC play on the road with back-to-back games at Texas A&M-Commerce (Jan. 6) and at Northwestern State (Jan. 8). The team will then come back home to the Legacy Center and host Southeastern Louisiana (Jan. 13) and Lamar (Jan. 15).
That stretch will be followed by road games at Incarnate Word (Jan. 20) and at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Jan. 22) before back home to wrap up the month with home games against University of New Orleans (Jan. 27) and Northwestern State (Jan. 29).
The month of February and March will see the Cowboys play five games at home and five more on the road.
The five road games in February will be Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 3), Houston Christian University (Feb. 12), Nicholls (Feb. 17), Lamar (Feb. 26) and the regular season finale at UNO (March 6).
The five home contests will be against Texas A&M-Commerce (Feb. 5), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 10), UIW (Feb. 24), Nicholls (March 2) and HCU (March 4).
The McNeese women will open up on the road with games at NSU (Jan. 4) and Texas A&M-Commerce (Jan. 6) and then returning home for games against Lamar (Jan. 11) and Southeastern Louisiana (Jan. 13).
The Cowgirls will close out the month with two more road games at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Jan. 18) and then Incarnate Word (Jan. 20), before returning home for a pair of games against UNO (Jan. 27) and Texas A&M-Commerce (Feb. 1).
The rest of the schedule includes five more road games at Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 3), HCU (Feb. 8), Nicholls (Feb. 17), Lamar (Feb. 22) and then UNO (March 6).
The remaining home contests are against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 10), UIW (Feb. 24), HCU (Feb. 29) and Nicholls (March 2).
The SLC Basketball Championships will once again be held in Lake Charles at the Legacy Center from March 10 to 13.
