Right-handed pitcher Luke Holman was named the SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week after a dominant outing in Houston against the Texas Longhorns.
He shared the honor with two-way superstar Jac Caglianone of Florida.
In the Tigers opening game of the Astros Foundation College Classic, Holman had 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball over the 13th-ranked Longhorns at Minute Maid Park. He gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out a dozen, a new career high for the Alabama transfer.
The Sinking Springs, Pa native threw 91 pitches (61 for strikes) and retired nine of the last 10 Texas batters he faced.
For the year, Holman is 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA. In 18 innings, he has just two walks and 30 strikeouts while opponents hit just .133 against him.
