The injury bug is hitting the Pelicans before the season even starts.
The New Orleans Pelicans announced on Monday that Alexis Ajinca is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a right hamstring strain. According to the Pelicans, the injury occured during the preseason opener against the Indiana Pacers.
Ajinca, who signed with the Pelicans in 2013, averaged 6.5 points and 4.6 boards a game in the 2014-15 season.
This injury announcement comes after Alvin Gentry announced last week that Jrue Holiday will be limited to 15 minutes a game until January and Quincy Pondexter is still expected to miss the beginning of the season while recovering from knee surgery.
