Corey Julks is headed to Chicago.

The Houston Astros traded Julks to the Chicago White Sox for minor league pitcher Luis Rodriguez. Astros General Manager Dana Brown announced the trade on Wednesday morning.

The 28-year-old Julks made his Major League debut with the Astros during the 2023 season. Julks batted .245 with 35 runs, 14 doubles, six home runs, 33 RBI, and a .649 OPS in 93 games last season.

The Houston native has spent the entire 2024 season with Triple-A Sugar Land, where he has batted .266 with 26 runs, seven doubles, five home runs, 15 RBI, and a .802 OPS in 31 games for the Space Cowboys.

Julks played collegiate baseball for the University of Houston Cougars and was selected by the Astros in the eighth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball.

Rodriguez is 20 years old and has appeared in 17 games between the Arizona Complex League and the Dominican Summer League in the White Sox organization. In those appearances between the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he has recorded a 3.93 ERA in 36.2 innings pitched with 49 strikeouts and a 1.23 WHIP.
