Once again, Jay Johnson wasted little time adding to his roster after the end of LSU’s season.
Cowan confirmed the news on his Instagram profile.
This time, the Tigers have added Zac Cowan from Wofford to their 2025 class via the transfer portal.
Cowan, a sophomore from Blyhtewood, South Carolina, had a 10-2 record this past season with the Terriers, posting a 3.35 ERA with 124 strikeouts in 110 innings pitched. The all-conference pitcher helped lead Wofford to the Chapel Hill Regional, the same regional LSU battled in with the Tar Heels.
Cowan will look to add to the weekend rotation after the likely departures of both Luke Holman and Gage Jump. The Tigers are expected to get Chase Shores back from injury in their pitching staff for 2025, which will be a big boost after a strong freshman campaign was cut short by injury during the national title run.
