Former LSU Tigers first baseman Tre’ Morgan, who was a cornerstone of the 2023 National Championship team, was named the Minor League Player of the Year by the Tampa Bay Rays.

The former Tiger and Louisiana native is currently rated as the 10th prospect in the Rays organization for what has been an incredible start to his professional run.

Starting in Class A at the beginning of the 2024 season, Morgan batted .320 with a pair of home runs and 11 RBI in 26 contests before moving up to High-Class A Bowling Green. With Bowling Green, the former Brother Martin star hit .371 with six homers and 44 RBI

Now, Morgan is paying for the Montgomery Biscuits in Double-A, batting .211 with two long balls and 13 runs batted in through 21 games. Montgomery is currently battling Biloxi in the Southern League playoffs.

Morgan had an outstanding career in Baton Rouge, helping the Tigers to a National Championship in his final season along with Dylan Crews, Paul Skenes, and Tommy White. Morgan hit .316 in his final season with 15 doubles, nine homers, and 53 RBI as he was named a member of the All-Tournament Team at the College World Series and was taken 88th overall by Tampa Bay.
