The LSU Tigers landed in the Top 15 of the initial College Football Playoff Rankings.
LSU (6-2) sits at No. 15 in the College Football Playoff Selection Committee Rankings which were released on Tuesday night. The Tigers are one of eight teams from the Southeastern Conference in the rankings, and one of six ranked in the Top 15.
Oregon (9-0) is ranked No. 1, followed by Ohio State (7-1) at No. 2, Georgia (7-1) at No. 3, Miami (9-0) sits at No. 4, and Texas (7-1) coming in at No. 5.
The rest of the Top 10 is Penn State (7-1) at No. 6, Tennessee (7-1) at No. 7, Indiana (9-0) at No. 8, BYU (8-0) at No. 9 and Notre Dame (7-1) coming in at No. 10.
Alabama (6-2) is the first team outside of the Top 10 as the Crimson Tide sit at No. 11, while Boise State (7-1) is at No. 12 and is the highest-ranked team from the Group of Five.
The kickoff time for the Alabama-LSU game is set for 6:30 p.m. and can be heard on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles.
In-state programs from the Group of Five, The Tulane Green Wave (7-2) and Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (7-1), did not crack the initial rankings.
