The 2025 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft began on Sunday, July 13th. Day one featured the first three rounds of the draft. Rounds 4-20 will be on Monday.

These two days are magical, filled with emotions, and will change players’ lives as they hear their names called and become part of the MLB. Plenty of players from the 2025 LSU National Championship team were selected in this year’s draft.

Here’s who got picked:

NAME: Kade Anderson
SELECTED: 3rd Overall
TEAM: Seattle Mariners
POSITION: LHP
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 6’2″ 186 lbs
BACKGROUND: Anderson was one of two aces in LSU’s national championship team. The Madisonville, Louisiana, native put up monster stats in 2025, leading to a 12-1 record and eight notable accolades. Some of those awards include First-Team All-American, Baseball America National Pitcher of the Year, and College World Series Most Outstanding Player.
2025 COLLEGE STATS: 19 Games Started, 119 Innings Pitched, 3.18 ERA, 91 Hits, 42 Earned Runs, 16 Home Runs, 35 Walks, 180 Strikeouts

NAME: Chase Shores
SELECTED: 47th Overall (2nd Round)
TEAM: Los Angeles Angels
POSITION: RHP
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 6’8″ 252 lbs
BACKGROUND: Shores was with the Bayou Bengals for all three of his collegiate seasons, but only pitched in two after having Tommy John Surgery. The Midland, Texas native returned to the bump in 2025 and delivered in multiple clutch situations in the postseason, helping LSU win its eighth national title.
COLLEGE STATS:
9 Games Started, 23 Games Appeared, 63.2 Innings Pitched, 5.09 ERA, 62 Hits, 36 Earned Runs, 3 Home Runs, 31 Walks, 70 Strikeouts

NAME: Anthony Eyanson
SELECTED:
87th Overall (3rd Round)
TEAM:
Boston Red Sox
POSITION: RHP
HEIGHT & WEIGHT:
6’2″ 208 lbs
BACKGROUND:
Before spending his lone season in Baton Rouge, Eyanson was with UC San Diego in 2023 and 2024. The Lakewood, California native was a good pitcher in his time as a member of the Tritons and elevated his play on the mound once he became a Tiger. Much like Anderson, Eyanson developed into LSU’s other ace pitcher and racked up awards of his own. Those include First-Team All-American, NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team, and 2025 ABCA First-Team All-South Region.
2025 COLLEGE STATS: 18 Games Started, 108 Innings Pitched, 3.00 ERA, 88 Hits, 36 Earned Runs, 8 Home Runs, 36 Walks, 152 Strikeouts

NAME: Ethan Frey
SELECTED: 95th Overall (3rd Round)
TEAM:
Houston Astros
POSITION:
Outfielder
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 6’6” 225 lbs
BACKGROUND: Frey spent all three years in Baton Rouge with minimal production and opportunities at the plate before exploding on the scene in his junior season. The Rosepine, Louisiana native finished second on the team in home runs, fourth on the team in RBI with 50, and was either near or at the top of other offensive statistical categories. Frey was a huge part of LSU’s offense and stepped up on numerous occasions in the playoffs.
2025 COLLEGE STATS:
62 Games Played, 181 At Bats, 43 Runs, 60 Hits, 116 Total Bases, 13 Home Runs, 50 RBI, 29 Walks, .331 Batting Average, .420 On Base Percentage, .641 Slugging Percentage
