The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard, according to multiple sources.
Bullard is a 31-year-old who most often plays the defensive end position. A third-round pick of the Chicago Bears back in 2016, he is entering his 10th NFL season, and the Saints will be his sixth team.
Last season with the Minnesota Vikings, Bullard started all 17 games for the first time in his career. He also set a new career mark with seven tackles for loss.
At 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, Bullard has mainly thrived as a run-stopper in his career. He has never recorded more than two sacks in a season but could slide into the Saints’ new defensive system well as a run-defender. He does have previous playing experience for New Orleans defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, who was an assistant with the Bears for part of Bullard’s tenure in Chicago.
