The Tulane Green Wave earned the first berth in the College Football Playoffs on Sunday, while the LSU Tigers and Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns both earned bowl berths.

Tulane (11-2) earned the No. 11 seed in the CFP bracket that was released on Sunday. The Green Wave capped off another stellar season on Friday night when they defeated North Texas 34-21 to win the American Conference Championship.

By being the highest-ranked Group of Five program, Tulane earned an automatic berth into the CFP.

Tulane will play at No. 6 seed Ole Miss (11-1) in the opening round of the playoffs. That game, which is a rematch of the season opener between the two squads, will be played at Vaught Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, December 20th, in Oxford, Mississippi.

When the two teams faced off, Lane Kiffin was still the head coach of the Rebels, but he has since accepted the head coaching job at SEC rival LSU.

LSU (7-5) are headed to Houston, Texas for the Kinder’s Texas Bowl. They will face the Houston Cougars (9-3). That game will be played at NRG Stadium on December 27th at 8:15 PM and you can listen to the action on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette 104.1 Lake Charles.

LSU fired head coach Brian Kelly during the season, after the team failed to live up to preseason expectations of competing for the SEC Championship and making it to the CFP. Frank Wilson took over as interim coach and will serve as the coach for the bowl game, while Kiffin continued to assemble his staff.

Louisiana (6-6) overcame injuries and a 2-6 start to win their final four games to become bowl eligible. For that, the Ragin’ Cajuns earned a bowl berth for the eighth consecutive season.

Louisiana will take on Delaware (6-6) in the 68 Ventures Bowl at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Kickoff between the Ragin’ Cajuns and the Blue Hens will be at 7:30 on December 17th.
