The 43rd annual Sunkist Shootout, hosted by St. Thomas More, is set to begin on Friday, December 26th, 2025.

The event, which showcases some of the best high school basketball teams and players in the state of Louisiana, features a 16-team field.

The top side of the bracket will have Teurlings, Holy Savior Menard, Catholic-New Iberia, Westgate, Archbishop Shaw, Lafayette Christian Academy, LRCA, and St. Louis.

The bottom side of the bracket will feature Vandebilt Catholic, Neville, Church Point, St. John XXIII, Terrebonne, STM, Sulphur, and Ellender.

First round matchups begin on Friday, with the tournament culminating with the championship game on Monday, December 29th at 7:30 PM.

Danny Broussard, head coach for STM and the creator of the event more than four decades ago, had this to say about the tournament.

“You can come out and watch some of the best players, teams, and coaches from all across Louisiana. From Monroe to Alexandria to Houma, Lake Charles, and Lafayette. Eight NBA stars and more than 150 college players have played in this event.”

Last year, STM took down Calvary Baptist in the championship game. The hosting Cougars will look to defend their title in 2025.
