Quitman senior Maggie Guyotte and Glenmora junior Brayden Holloway guided their respective teams to state championships in Sulphur.

Now, they have earned top honors on the Class B All-State teams, with Most Valuable Player honors that were chosen by a panel of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

Guyotte, one of the most prolific hitters in state history, batted .519 in her final season. However, at the state tournament, she also proved to be an effective closer in the circle when the Louisiana Tech signee dominated in a semifinal win over Hicks and championship game against Anacoco.

She earned the saves in both wins, enabling Quitman to hoist its third straight state championship.

Holloway, who helped guide second-ranked Glenmora to its first-ever state championship, batted .438 with 26 RBIs. He also had a pair of key hits in Glenmora’s victory over Pitkin in the Class B final.

Quitman teammates Hallie Kate Pullig and Anna Leach joined Guyotte on the first team, while Holloway also had a pair of teammates earn honors in Wyatt Gillispie and Cullyn Robbins.

Anacoco’s Angie Davis and Glenmora’s Gary Ashworth were selected Coaches of the Year.

Davis guided No. 4 Anacoco to the Class B title game, which included a quarterfinal victory over Zwolle, atoning for a quarterfinal setback in 2025, and a 9-6 semifinal upset of No. 1 Stanley this year.

Ashworth led Glenmora to its first baseball state championship in school history, allowing only two runs throughout the playoffs, both of which occurred in the final inning of its title win over Pitkin.
