There was nothing more Kynzee Anderson could’ve done for Calvary Baptist Academy. The University of Georgia signee helped the Lady Cavaliers to their sixth straight championship and fourth with her in the circle on May 3.
For the fourth straight season, Anderson was named an LSWA All-State first-teamer. For the second straight season, the reigning Miss Softball took home Class 2A’s Most Outstanding Player honors.
Anderson, a senior, improved her ERA in every one of the past four seasons. A stellar 2026 campaign included a 30-1 record, a miniscule 0.61 ERA and an overwhelming 318 strikeouts in 171 innings pitched.
Her head coach, Tiffany Wood, led one of her younger championship teams to a 30-0 start and a 37-1 mark overall – the only loss was to Class 5A West Monroe on April 6. Her 400th career victory came in the title game against Parkview Baptist. Wood earned Class 2A Coach of the Year honors.
On the baseball side, some fresh names took home the major honors.
Ridge Coats wouldn’t just make an All-name team, the senior Outfielder for Ouachita Christian earned first-team honors on the Class 2A All-State team. The Arkansas-Three Rivers signee batted .391 this season with 11 home runs and 55 RBIs and led the Eagles to the Select Division IV state championship.
Coats was 3-for-4 with two doubles in the title game victory.
In Division III select, Isidore Newman won a state crown for the first time in 23 years. Led by head coach Pat Adams, the Greenies (30-8) dropped the first game of the LHSAA select Division III state championship series against University Lab, but the bats came alive with 28 total runs in back-to-back victories to end a magical campaign.
Prior to 2026, Newman hadn’t won more than one playoff round in more than a decade. Adams took over the program starting with the derailed 2020 season.
