The LSU women’s basketball team is set to face North Carolina in Chapel Hill for the SEC/ACC Challenge this upcoming season. The game is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, December 2nd.
Playing at Carmichael Arena will mark LSU’s second straight road game of the SEC/ACC Challenge, now in its fourth season. The Tigers are 3-0 in the challenge contests with victories over Virginia Tech in 2023 and Stanford in 2024, both in the PMAC. LSU also secured a double-digit comeback victory against Duke in 2025 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
LSU holds a 3-0 advantage over North Carolina in the all-time series. The most recent matchup between the Tigers and the Tar Heels came during the 2016 regular season at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in a neutral-site contest, where LSU won, 70-43.
Both teams are coming off Sweet 16 appearances in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
LSU will battle another North Carolina program when it takes on NC State on either November 27 or 28 during the Fort Myers Tipoff event. LSU will also take on Villanova in that tournament.
The LSU men’s team will be taking on Wake Forest in the SEC/ACC Basketball Challenge. The Tigers will welcome the Demon Deacons to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Tuesday, Dec. 1st.
LSU and Wake Forest are familiar with each other, having played three times in this decade. The Tigers lead the overall series, 4-2, with LSU on a three-game win streak, one of those under Coach Will Wade.
The SEC/ACC Challenge game is just one of a few marquee non-conference matchups that has been reported for Wade’s return to LSU.
The Advocate was first reported to say that LSU will travel to Spokane, Washington, to take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday, November 14. Gonzaga typically hosts its basketball games at the McCarthey Athletic Center but this nonconference game will instead be played at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, which has a higher capacity by roughly 4,000 people.
It has also been reported that LSU will take on the Houston Cougars in a game held at the Toyota Center. Date has yet to be determined.
