#3OT: Cajuns vs South Alabama

Posted by clintdomingue on January 21, 2016 in Featured

3OT

Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!

1st OT: Kasey Shepherd Is A Baller

Heading into tonight’s matchup against South Alabama, a lot was made about Kasey Shepherd’s ruptured tendon in his shooting hand. Apparently, the injury isn’t as bad as originally expected as he balled out in the Cajundome. The senior guard went for a career-high 27 points. Perhaps the most interesting part of his performance was him draining 6-of-8 from the arc. For what kind of injury he had, he performed far better than anyone could have expected.

2nd OT: Free Throws A Big Difference

The Cajuns outside of Shepherd’s performance did not perform all that well shooting 44 percent from the field. But what it all came down to at the end of the day was the charity stripe, and the Cajuns were solid. And it made a big difference in the second making 20-of-27 gave the Cajuns the edge they needed to come away with a convincing win.

3rd OT: Breaking Even

For the first time since December 9th, the Ragin Cajuns are at .500. This is what is to be expected from the Cajuns. Under-perform before conference play, and start to make a push mid-January. With several games at home the next few weeks, the Cajuns have a chance to really start stacking up wins and move up the rankings, especially because three of the next four teams, the Cajuns play are below .600.
