#3OT: Cajuns vs Arkansas State

Posted by clintdomingue on February 11, 2016 in Featured

3OT

Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!

1st OT: Cajuns Second Half Turnaround

The Ragin Cajuns had one of their toughest tests during this now nine-game win streak on Thursday night against Arkansas Little Rock. For most of the game, the Cajuns were just like a dog chasing a car, getting close to it but never getting right there. But a complete turnaround in the second half helped save the day for the Cajuns. In the first half the Cajuns were an okay 40 percent from the field and a deplorable 18 percent from three point range. But the second half showed improvement in the offensive efforts for the Cajuns especially from three point range, hitting 58 percent from the arc. That was one of the big reasons why the Cajuns were able to come away with a double digit win after being close throughout.

2nd OT: Kasey Shepherd Sharp Shooting

Speaking of improving from the arc, one of the better shooters from that range in Kasey Shepherd showed up in a big way to get his team a win. The senior guard continues to excel from the bench hitting the only two three-pointers in the first half, and being perfect from the arc in the second. Shawn Long dominated the first half, but Shepherd got the ball rolling for this team to keep their win streak alive.

3rd OT: Crucial Game on Saturday

This Saturday may be the biggest game to take place in the Cajundome in some time as the Cajuns will take on Arkansas-Little Rock.  It may also be a possible preview of the Sun Belt tournament finals with both teams wanting to come away with this huge win. The last time these two faced, the Trojans dominated the Cajuns 77-57. This is the biggest hurdle for the Cajuns to get over in this current hot streak. If the Cajuns can pull off the win and keep the streak alive, the final stretch of games could be historic. So be sure to go out to the Cajundome at 4:15 and see one hell of a game.
