#3OT: LSU vs Alabama

Posted by clintdomingue on February 17, 2016 in Featured

3OT

Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!

1st OT: Where Was The Defense?

The LSU Tigers have always had troubles with defense this season, and this was another example. The Tigers just left Retin Obasohan wide open, especially in the second half. One big question for me is why Johnny Jones did not put two players on him. It seemed like it was the obvious solution to stopping him. Just overall frustrating to see how this team is playing on the defensive side of the ball.

2nd OT: Victor and Simmons Keep LSU in it

For the most part on Wednesday night, the LSU Tigers were kept in the game until the tail end thanks in large part to Craig Victor and Ben Simmons. Both players combined for 41 of the teams 69 points. But the crazy part of all this is that 10 of the 20 points Simmons racked up was from the charity stripe. It was another situation of the alpha player on this team not stepping his game up.

3rd OT: LSU to the NIT?

At this point in time, it looks like the LSU Tigers could be headed to the NIT barring them winning all five of their final games in the regular season and having a solid run in the SEC tournament. If you’re an LSU fan that expected to see this team with the talent they have right now, you had them making it back to the NCAA Tournament. If this team doesn’t get back on track during the next five games, then this entire season was an epic failure.
