LSU Baseball Wins Rubber Match In Convincing Fashion

Posted by clintdomingue on February 28, 2016 in Latest News

The LSU Tigers dominated the rubber match between themselves and Sacramento State (4-3) with an 11-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.

After a couple scoreless innings, the Tiger busted it wide open in the bottom of the third with Fraley starting things off with an RBI single. This was followed up with a little twin magic with Beau Jordan hitting a three-run double and Bryce following it up with a single that scored Beau to put the Tigers up 5-0.

Greg Deichmann got Bryce home in the bottom of the fifth with a single up the middle.

The Tigers put the game out of reach in the bottom of the seventh with two runs off of wild pitches and another off of a throwing error.

John Valek (2-0) got the win on Sunday allowing one run off of four hits and striking out six batters.

The Tigers (5-2) head over to Thibodeaux to take on Nicholls State on Wednesday with first pitch set for 6 pm.
