Carlos Correa is not returning to Houston.

The Astros All-Star shortstop was rumored to either return to the team that drafted him or possibly sign a massive contract with fellow World Series contender such as the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Instead, Correa signed with the Minnesota Twins, who finished last in the American League Central in 2021 with a 73-89 overall record.

Multiple media outlets announced late Friday night that Correa had agreed to a three-year contract worth $105.3 million with opt-outs after first two seasons. Correa will reportedly earn $35.1 million each season.

During the 2021 season, Correa batted .279 with 26 homers, 92 RBIs and 104 runs and earned his first Gold Glove honor.

Correa is a two-time All-Star (2017, 2021), AL Rookie of the Year (2015) and helped Puerto Rico to a silver medal at the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

For his career, Correa has batted .277 with 133 home runs and 489 RBI.

Correar was a key member of the Astros’ rebuild that saw the franchise reach the World Series three times, including winning the Fall Classic in 2017. Correa was especially productive in the postseason with 18 postseason home runs and 59 RBI.

The Astros selected Correa out of the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft.
