
The LSU Tigers baseball team had seven players earn All-SEC honors, the league announced on Monday.
Kade Anderson and Zac Cowan earned First-Team, while Jared Jones, Anthony Eyanson, Derek Curiel, and Daniel Dickinson earned Second-Team. Curiel and Casan Evans earned All-Freshman nods to round out the awards.
Anderson, a sophomore from Madisonville, has been the Friday night starter for Jay Johnson this season. He ranks second in the nation in strikeouts and has an ERA of 3.43. He also earned All-Defensive honors and won SEC Pitcher of the Week back in April.
Cowan, a junior from South Carolina, was a transfer portal addition from Wofford, whom LSU saw in their regional appearance last year. He has been excellent in a hybrid role, pitching out of the bullpen. He has six saves this season, with five of those coming in SEC play.
Jones, a Georgia native, has been an offensive force this season. He ranks top five in the SEC in numerous offensive categories, including RBIs, total bases, hits, and home runs. He also now ranks third all-time in homers by an LSU player.
Eyanson, who comes from California, has settled in nicely as the number two starter for the Tigers this year. He excelled once SEC play came around, and he won his final three starts of the regular season. He ranks third in the country in strikeouts.
Curiel, a freshman also from California, has been a mainstay in the lineup since he showed up on campus. He has won SEC Freshman of the Week and has set the table at the top of the lineup for much of the season. His .344 average sits near the top of the league for freshmen as well.
Dickinson, a transfer from Utah Valley, joins Jones in ranking top five in numerous batting categories. He has been a consistent contributor in the middle of the lineup, and his 10 home runs have ranked near the top of the team as well.
Lastly, Evans, a Texas native, has secured six saves and also won SEC Freshman of the Week this year. He recently moved into a starting role after being used out of the bullpen for much of the season.
