The Houston Astros have come to terms with Japanese pitcher Tatsuya Imai, according to multiple sources.
Imai, a 27-year-old, has been one of the best pitchers in Japan. He agreed to a three-year deal with Houston.
Last season in the NBP, Imai had a 1.92 ERA with 178 strikeouts in 163 2/3 innings.
The move adds depth for Houston, who dealt with numerous pitcher injuries in 2025. With Hunter Brown at the top of the rotation, the focus of the offseason has been largely around securing the players behind him that will eat innings in 2026.
