The Houston Astros established dominance over the last four days against the Texas Rangers, completing a series sweep on Sunday with a 6-2 win thanks to a big eighth inning.

How It Happened:

Alex Bregman wasted very little time getting the Astros on the board with a two-out RBI single that got into the outfield, scoring Michael Brantley. Carlos Correa made it a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth after Chas McCormick scored off of a forceout.

However, it took just one swing of the bat to tie things up in the seventh with David Dahl hitting his fourth homer of the season out to center field.

Houston took back control of the ballgame in the eighth starting with Yuli Gurriel hitting a sac fly, scoring Jose Altuve. McCormick followed that up with a two-run single to give the Astros some insurance.

Myles Straw secured the win later in the inning with an RBI single on a line drive to center field.

Big Number: 6

The Astros have been red hot as of late and wrapped up the homestand with six straight victories headed into a big series on the road.

Player of the Game: Brooks Raley

You have to give credit where credit is due and Brooks Raley may have only pitched one inning on Sunday afternoon, but when you strike out the heart of the lineup was pretty impressive.

Next Up: Tuesday at Oakland A’s; First Pitch at 8:40 pm
