The Houston Astros clinched a postseason spot, but they dropped their final regular season series to the Texas Rangers.

How It Happened:

The Texas Rangers won the remaining three games in a four-game set after the Astros took game one 12-4 Thursday night.

Texas defeated Houston 8-4 on Sunday in the final regular season game.

The Astros opened up the scoring with a run in the first inning after Jose Altuve homered to left center field.

Texas was able to tie the game in the second inning when Joey Gallo scored on a single by Sam Huff.

The Rangers started to run away with the contest in the fourth inning. Texas scored five runs in the frame. Rougned Odor hit a three-run shot to right field and Leody Taveras brought in two more scores with a sharp ground ball to center field.

Houston managed one more run in the eighth inning. Aledmys Diaz homered to center field for the final score of the game.

The Rangers sealed the win after Alex Bregman hit a pop up to second base.

Big Number: 29

In a shortened season, the Houston Astros finished with 29 wins for the season. They finished 29-31 overall and clinched a postseason spot. It is their fourth consecutive postseason berth and the fifth time in the last six seasons.

Player of the Game: Rougned Odor

The Rangers second baseman gave the Rangers a lead in the fourth inning after his home run drove in two other players. He finished the game with four RBI and recorded two hits on three at-bats.

Up Next: Houston is scheduled to take part in the AL Wild Card Round on Tuesday, Sept. 29
