The World Champion Houston Astros know their Road to October for the 2023 season, as the MLB schedule was announced earlier today.
The Astros will open the 2023 season at home against the Chicago White Sox in a 6:00 p.m. first pitch. The Astros will also welcome some of the top teams in baseball to Minute Maid Park such as the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and much more.
However, there may not be a series bigger than the rematch of the 2022 World Series when the Philadelphia Phillies return to the Juice Box to take on the Astros at the end of April.
The Astros-White Sox season opener is important because former White Sox star Jose Abreu will now be playing first base for the Astros after Houston acquired him in free agency during the offseason.
There will be 14 other games on Opening Day around the MLB, with all 30 teams taking part. All 30 clubs will also play on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15) and Roberto Clemente Day (September 15).
The MLB is also beginning a new World Tour initiative that will feature games in Mexico as well as across the pond in London. The Giants and Padres will play in Mexico City for two games while the Cardinals and Cubs will play two games at London Stadium.
