Every season the Southeastern Conference makes an effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes off the field. They do so by naming one member of each of the teams in the SEC to the Community Service Team. Brock Mathis has received that honor this season as LSU’s representative.
Mathis, a sophomore from Fairfield, Ohio, has volunteered numerous hours to the community since becoming a member of the LSU program. He has participated in the annual ‘Halloween Boo-zar’ and ‘Thanksgiving with the Tigers’; where he delivered both food and candy to families in need in the Baton Rouge community.
Mathis was also an assistant for the annual Alex Box Stadium ‘campout’, where children and their parents spent a night at the stadium.
Last, but certainly not least, of all is the amount of time Brock has spent as a volunteer at the University Laboratory School on the campus of LSU.
