We knew who the Ragin Cajuns football team was set to face in 2016, but now we know the when.
The Sun Belt Conference released on Thursday every team’s schedule after a delay due to the announcement of Idaho and New Mexico State leaving the Conference in 2018.
The Cajuns will open up the season at home on September 3rd, taking on Boise State. They will stay at home for the next two weeks taking on McNeese State and South Alabama respectively. The week three matchup against South Alabama is the earliest the Cajuns have had a conference game since 2013.
After that, they will hit the road on September 24th when they take on the Green Wave and will stay on the road for an October 1st matchup against New Mexico State.
They’ll have 10 days off before having a nationally televised midweek game against Appalachian State on October 12th. They’ll hit the road again with a game against Texas State on October 22nd before returning to Cajun Field for homecoming against Idaho on November 5th.
They will then head up to the Peach State, taking on Georgia Southern for the first time since the Eagles joined the conference, and head between the hedges to take on the Georgia Bulldogs on November 12th and 19th respectively.
The Cajuns will end their season with a home game against Arkansas State on November 26th and a road trip to take on in-state rival UL Monroe.
