The Ragin Cajuns bats woke up on Wednesday night and dominated Northwestern State (8-8) by the score of 10-1.
David Fry got the Demons on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI double down the left field line.
Hunter Kasuls knotted things up quickly in the top of the second with an RBI single. Brian Mills kept the scoring going in the second with an RBI single of his own. Brenn Conrad followed up with a single of his own that would score Mills to put the Cajuns up 3-1.
The floodgates opened up in the top of the third with the Cajuns putting five more runs on the board, punctuated by Derek Herrington capitalizing on a throwing error by Northwestern State.
The Cajuns put the nail in the coffin in the top of the ninth with a pair of runs from Herrington and Mills, respectively.
Evan Guillory got his first win of the season allowing one run off of five hits, walking one, and striking out four batters in six innings of work.
The Cajuns (11-6, 2-1 SBC) will return to the Tigue for a three game series against Little Rock (5-10, 0-3 SBC) starting on Friday with first pitch set for 6 pm.
