Cajuns Beat Sacred Heart 8-3

After a rough start, the Ragin Cajuns took over and beat Sacred Heart (0-5) 8-3.

Zack Short got Sacred Heart on the board with a two-run single in the top of the first to go up 2-0.

Joe Robbins started a very eventful bottom of the third when he scored on a wild pitch. The Cajuns tied it up with a free run when Dylan Poncho was walk with the bases loaded. Ishmael Edwards gave them the lead later in the inning with an RBI single.

Poncho extended the Cajuns lead to 4-2 with an RBI single down the left field line.

Robbins continued to have himself a day, hitting a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth. Alex Pinero and Mills continued to put the game away with a pair of RBIs in the bottom the seventh.

But it was Stefan Trosclair, in the middle of a seven game hit streak after starting the season 1-for-14, who put it away in the bottom of the eighth with a solo shot that hit the video board.

Wyatt Marks improved to 2-0 on the year, allowing two runs off of five hits, walking one and striking out eight batters in six innings of work.

The Cajuns (7-4) will go for the sweep on Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 1 pm.
