The Ragin Cajuns started off their road trip with a visit to nationally ranked UCLA (8-3) and came close to pulling off an upset, but fell to the Bruins 89-80.

The Bruins started off strong with an early 13-2 run and held on throughout the first half with a 12 point lead heading into the locker room.

The Cajuns were able to cut away at the lead late with a 12-6 run, but it proved to be a case of too little too late.

The Bruins were led by Bryce Alford with 27 points, six boards, seven assists, and one steal on the night. Aaron Holiday and Tony Parker were right behind the junior guard, each racking up 19 points.

Shawn Long led the Cajuns with a double-double on Tuesday night. The senior forward stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points, 16 boards, one assist, two steals and one block.

The Cajuns (3-5, 0-1 Sun Belt) will stay on the road to take on Pepperdine (6-4) on Friday with tipoff set for 10 pm.
