Louisiana was back in the office quickly after their win over Samford to face Louisiana Christian. Jordan Brown went to work once again, dominating most of the game and leading the Cajuns to a big 98-63 win at home before they hit the road later in the week.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Louisiana opened a 18-4 advantage at the first media timeout, with Jordan Brown leading the way. The Cajuns had a 12-0 run going in the timeout, as Brown had 11 of the 18 points. As a team, Louisiana shot 88% in the opening portion.
Over the next four minutes, the Cajuns were outscored by the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian 8-3 to cut the lead to 21-12. The game continued to be back-and-forth with the Cajuns only holding a 27-25 advantage with less than eight minutes remaining in the first half.
With 3:59 remaining, the Cajuns held a 38-29 advantage in the game, with Louisiana shooting 14-22 from the field. Jordan Brown led all scorers with 17 in the first half.
At the halftime break, it was a 49-35 lead for the Cajuns. Jordan Brown had 21 in the first half on 9-12 shooting.
The Cajuns opened the second half scoring six straight points to keep it in their favor with a 57-39 lead. Louisiana Christian went on to outscore the Cajuns 15-12 over the next stretch to trim the lead to 15.
Jordan Brown carried the Cajuns down to the eight minute timeout, with the preseason Player of the Year leading the charge with 35 points on 15-20 shooting.
At the final media timeout, the Cajuns held a 91-61 advantage with Brown hitting a career-high for points with 37. Louisiana finished out the game for a 98-63 over the Wildcats from Louisiana Christian.
