The Ragin Cajuns had a rough outing on Saturday night in Hammond, allowing 15 runs in a loss to Southern (26-10).
The Lions got on the board in the bottom of the first with a two run double from Criss. Midyett kept the scoring coming with an RBI single to make it 4-0. Byers busted things open in the bottom of the third with a three run shot to left field.
The Cajuns finally got on the board in the top of the fourth when Stefan Trosclair hit a solo shot of his own to left field.
Fisher kept the game rolling for the Lions with a solo shot to left field in the bottom of the fifth.
Brenn Conraad tried to get a rally going in the sixth with two runs scoring off a double, but Seward was able to reach home after Midyett struck out swinging in the bottom of the sixth. This was followed by a two run single by Crites
Southeastern put the game out of reach in the bottom of the seventh scoring three runs in the seventh.
Wyatt Marks dropped to 3-4 on the year allowing six runs off of six hits, walking two and striking out one in two and a third innings of work.
The Cajuns (23-12) will try to win the rubber match on Sunday with first pitch set for 1 pm.
