When the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns travel to Lake Charles to take on McNeese State, it seems that a loss will happen. That wouldn’t be the case as a big run late in the first half would help extend the Cajuns win streak to six games.
McNeese State would start out the game in control, going up by as much as 17-7 with 12 minutes left in the first half, but the Cajuns would roar back in the final minutes of the half with a 27-1 run in the final six minutes would give the Cajuns a 13 point lead heading into the locker room at half.
The Cowboys would start the second half on a small run, but it would continue to be all Ragin Cajuns the rest of the way with the game ending with former LCA Knight Caleb Ledoux hitting a three pointer for McNeese to make it a 20 point win for the Cajuns.
The Cajuns (6-2) will return to the Cajundome next Wednesday to take on the Loyola Wolfpack (7-2, 1-0 SSAC) with tip off set for 7 pm.
By the Numbers:
15: Number of rebounds Bryce Washington had on the afternoon. The junior forward matched the amount of rebounds McNeese State had all game.
86.1: Cajuns free-throw percentage on Saturday afternoon. This was a big factor in the win because the Cowboys were only 64 percent from the charity stripe and also had less trips with 25 shots while the Cajuns shot from the line 36 times.
3: Number of players that put 20 points on the board. Jay Wright led the way with 28 points with Frank Bartley behind him with 21 points. Jonathan Stove would round out the trio with 20 points on Saturday.
